One of ISIUM’s core functions is to share reliable and useful resources. The following resources are available on this site:

Independent information

Independent information about medicines and their use, including journals, formularies, guidelines

Papers: measurement and use of medicines

The first step to improving the use of medicines is to measure it. Only by knowing how medicines are being used, can we know whether they are being used appropriately (correctly, rationally) or not. Also, only by measuring use can we evaluate whether interventions and policies to improve use are effective.

Papers: medicines policies, interventions and implementation

Medicines are used in many different environments by many different stakeholders, so many different types of policy and intervention are needed to promote more appropriate (correct, rational) use.

Presentations of interest

Professor Libby Roughead, a researcher at the University of South Australia, presented this lecture in 2013 as part of the university’s public lecture program to share the university’s research with the community. The audience comprised members of the public, as well as university staff and students.

ISIUM discussion papers

Part of ISIUM’s way of stimulating debate and interest in better use of medicines is to invite people to submit discussion papers on any topic relevant to medicines in society and the problems faced by people, and the professionals, institutions and governments that protect and serve their interests.
