Invitation to submit an abstract

The International Society to Improve the Use of Medicines (ISIUM) is holding its second International Conference at the Kantary Hills Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand on 28-30 October 2023. The title of the Conference is:

Improving Use of Medicines: Connecting, Learning, Moving Forward

You are invited to take an active part in the Conference by submitting an abstract for a poster, a video clip or an oral presentation.

First time presenters are encouraged to submit an abstract as there will be a special session showcasing their work as we look to the future.

What is an abstract?

An abstract is a short statement that gives the reader a good, but concise, understanding of your work. Your work could be a research study, delivery of a service, development and implementation of a program or policy, or a resource. It may be a description of a case study or personal experience that explains why rational use of medicines is important.

An abstract is an opportunity to make your work known, inform practice or education, and to establish connections with others in our field of interest. It should tell readers what you are going to present and interest them in learning more about your work — they may decide to attend your presentation, visit your poster or contact you based on it.

Types of presentation

Presenters can select to make an oral, poster or video presentation. Select your preferred method.

If you select an oral presentation, it is a good idea to also agree to present a poster of the same work.

If your work is essentially about a personal experience or a small program, a short video may be a better option for you. Video presentations will be limited to two (2) minutes.
