The latest ISIUM conversation – Rational use of medicines matters: Are we measuring what matters? – is now available.

Held on 21 May 2025, this session drew global attention, with participants from 19 countries joining the discussion. Moderated by Libby Roughead (Australia), the conversation featured Kathleen Holloway (UK), who explored how national programs and medicines policies are assessed—particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Supasit Pannarunothai (Thailand) also shared insights from Thailand’s journey towards becoming a rational drug use country.

Topics included the complexities of monitoring medicine use, developing and adapting indicators, and improving data collection and policy implementation. Ideas shared ranged from leveraging existing health system data to building international collaborations.
