Applications for membership
An application for membership form for an individual person to join the International Society to Improve the Use of Medicines (ISIUM) is available via the website in an online format. You must complete and pay for your membership via this online process.
Notice period
You will be notified within 10 working days if your membership is granted. Should your membership not be granted, you will be entitled to a full refund (less bank fees).
Individual membership
Membership fees are charged on an annual basis and are determined according to the country from which you derive your salary/income; either low-income, middle-income or high-income country as defined by the World Bank. A list of World Bank country classifications is available for download from the ISIUM website. The fees payable are outlined on the membership application form.
Register of members
Part of the rationale for joining ISIUM is the community that it creates.
When applying to join ISIUM you are asked to provide your contact details as well as a brief summary of your particular interests, skills and experience in improving the use of medicines that ISIUM can share with other members. The member directory thus created is an active directory of members. The information in the register is based on the information that you provide on your application form. You will only appear in the member directory if you are a financial member.
Financial membership
Membership benefits, such as access to the register of members, will be available following payment of the correct membership fee and confirmation being received that your membership is approved.
The term of membership is 12 months from the date you first pay your membership fee. For persons from middle-income or low-income countries who select the 3-year option, the term is 36 months from the date the membership fee is paid.
Company guarantee payment (new members only)
In addition to the membership fee, each new member is required to make a single one-off payment of US$8.00 for the company guarantee* and this is required to be paid in advance.
If you cease to become a member this company guarantee payment will be refunded to you.
* ISIUM is set up in Australia as a not-for-profit company ‘limited by guarantee’. ‘Limited by guarantee’ refers to the maximum liability of each member if the company is wound up while the member is a member, or within 12 months after they stop being a member.
Organisational membership
Organisational membership is available only by invitation from the board of directors of ISIUM. For further information contact info@isium.org.
Refund policy
If you have applied for membership and paid your membership fee and your membership application has been approved, refund of the annual membership payment is not available.
If you have applied for membership and paid your membership fee and your membership application is NOT approved, you will be entitled to a full refund of membership payment (less bank fees).
The company guarantee (one-off) payment will be refunded to you if you cease to be a member of ISIUM.
