The International Society to Improve the Use of Medicines (ISIUM) is pleased to announce that its next global conference will take place in Kathmandu, Nepal, from 19 to 21 November 2026. Building on the momentum of the 2023 conference in Chiang Mai, this event will bring together practitioners, researchers, policy makers and advocates to explore strategies for improving the quality use of medicines. Attendees will have the opportunity to present their work, share ideas, learn from experts, and connect with a diverse international community.
The 2026 conference will focus on progress made and challenges faced in promoting appropriate use of medicines, with discussions structured around three key questions: Where are we? How can we move forward? Where do we go? Core themes include the role of digital technology, research methodologies, and policy implementation. Strategies under discussion will span evidence-based prescribing, patient education, affordability, access, and innovation in emerging healthcare contexts such as telehealth and personalised medicine.
Expected outcomes include a shared understanding of key issues, practical tools and approaches for driving change, and strengthened global collaboration. Participants will leave with renewed energy and insight to advance national and international efforts in medicines use. Details on abstract submissions, the program, and venue logistics will be announced soon.
